Nadira Auty


From Jerusalem, Mrs Auty is a native speaker of Arabic, and is a professionally trained language teacher. Now retired, she was until recently responsible for much of the teaching of spoken Arabic at AMES and is active in the design of Arabic language teaching material:

  • 'Self-Access Arabic' (150 units) for University of Westminster, 1992;
  • 'The Cambridge Arabic Course for Business' (Co-author), 1989 (not published, can be found at the Faculty Library);
  • Breakthrough Arabic (Co-author), Macmillan, 1992;
  • Talk Arabic - BBC Active (Development Editor) Educational Publishers LLP, 2009.

Mrs Auty helped in the translation of A Ninth Century Treatise on the Law of Trusts (Being a translation of Al-Khassaaf , Ahkaam al-Waquf), Translated and edited by Gilbert Paul Verbit, Xlibris, 2008.
