PhD Student in Chinese Studies


Biography:

  • BA in Chinese Language and Literature, Beijing Normal University, China. My dissertation discussed some key moral concepts in Mencius from cultural-psychological perspectives.
  • Master of Science in Social Anthropology, London School of Economics and Political Science. My dissertation discussed how individuals in a certain occupation in China construct inter-personal relationship and occupational beliefs using religious, moral and aesthetic knowledge.
  • My PhD research explores how aesthetic education and knowledge helped to shape individual identity, values and organisational culture in certain social groups in 1940s-1960s' China through literature and arts.
