Research Interests

Broadly, I am interested in biblical Hebrew per se, and especially in close readings of biblical narrative. This narrative bent extends to an interest in other Hebrew works that lend themselves to literary speculation, such as the Aggadic sections of the Talmud or Midrash. I am excited to work with manuscripts and manuscript fragments, and enjoy the challenge of both liturgical and non-liturgical Medieval Hebrew poetry.

As for my own poetic tendencies, I prefer to write nonsense poetry, often in the form of text messages to unsuspecting friends whilst on trams in Manchester! Now that I have moved back to Cambridge, these lyrical wellsprings have, unfortunately, somewhat dried up of late.
