I am originally from the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in the northeast of China, where both Mandarin and Korean are spoken. Hence, I developed my passionate interest in languages from a very young age. I began my career as a Chinese teacher in 2007 after graduating from Beijing Foreign Studies University. Since moving to the UK, I have taught Chinese at Imperial College, University of London and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. I hold an MA in Chinese Studies, SOAS, from the University of London.
Subject groups/Research projects
My research interests include teaching Chinese as a foreign language, second language acquisition and linguistic comparison between Chinese and English.
