Philip Rushworth completed his BA in International History at LSE and his MPhil (with distinction) at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Cambridge. His master’s dissertation explored sociality and ethics among converts to Islam in a convert support network and was based on ethnographic fieldwork in Manchester, UK.
Subject groups/Research projects
Philip’s research interests centre on the social anthropology of Muslims in Europe, in particular morality, language, religion and education, as well as questions and approaches in the sub-field of existential anthropology. He is also interested in diaspora, migration and transnationalism.
