Administrative Assistant to Japanese Studies

Grade 3

Salary range: £18,940 - £21,843 (to be prorated)

The Department of East Asian Studies is seeking to appoint a part-time (50% full-time equivalent) Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to the Japanese Studies subject group.

The role holder will work with the Chair of Japanese Studies to support the work of the subject group as a whole. They will provide administrative support to help the team facilitate the smooth running of a number of key processes including outreach, events administration and networking along with some general office duties.

The role holder will also provide clerical support to the Chair of Japanese Studies, subject convenor and subject coordinator, including some diary management and scheduling of meetings.

The ideal candidate will be educated to at least GCSE level with some administrative experience and able to take instruction from a wide range of individuals. They will be able to relate to, and communicate with, colleagues at all levels and able to prioritise their own workload to meet deadlines.
