Academic Visitors

This is a guide for academics who intend to apply to become an Academic Visitor to the Faculty.

As an Academic Visitor, you will be entitled to:

  • a Cambridge University email address for the Visiting period;
  • limited access to University computing facilities;
  • use of the Faculty Library and an introduction to the University Library to secure borrowing rights;
  • attend most lectures and workshops/seminars.

The Faculty assumes that visitors come to Cambridge to pursue their independent research and therefore does not provide or arrange academic supervision.

We regret to advise that the Faculty is unable to assist with accommodation. We recommend that you contact the Society for Academic Visitors at:
http://www.gradunion.cam.ac.uk/info/socvisitschol.html

An invitation to become an Academic Visitor does not bring any financial remuneration from the University and is given on the understanding that the Visitor will be entirely self-funded (in accordance with Immigration policy). An invitation to become an Academic Visitor also does not confer membership of any College.
