The following journals, yearbooks and other collections have been covered for the bibliographies. The numbers following the name of the journal indicate the volume numbers which have been covered in the case of journals systematically covered. It is hoped that most significant journals publishing articles on Japanese history in English, French, German and Italian are being covered, although, as indicated, coverage is not yet complete. Relevant articles appearing in other journals, such as Past and Present and History of religions, are being included as and when they come to the editor's attention. The numbers give volume/issue numbers covered for this bibliography.
