Dining with Al-Qaeda

Hugh Pope is a former Middle East correspondent for Reuters, The Independent and most recently The Wall Street Journal. He is currently Director of the International Crisis Group's Turkey/Cyprus Project in Istanbul. Mr. Pope is also the author of several books, and on May 18th he shall be discussing his latest publication Dining with al-Qaeda: Three Decades Exploring the Many Worlds of the Middle East. In this context, he will be sharing his unique insight on the developments he witnessed first-hand by living and working in the Middle East and Turkey during the past three decades.
There is no reservation necessary for the talk, and it is free and open to all interested.
After the event there is an opportunity to continue on to Pembroke College to attend a Formal Hall with the author.
Formal Hall: Pembroke-members £7.5, non-Pembroke £11
