Second Language Acquisition of Chinese and Thai Nominal Phrases (part II)

The seventh seminar of 2014-2015 will take place on Friday, 5th December, in Room 8 (ground floor) at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. The speaker will be Woramon Prawatmuang (FAMES) who will present her PhD project on Second Language Acquisition of Chinese and Thai Nominal Phrases (part II) (see abstract below). The seminar starts at 10am and ends at 12pm.

The Research Students' Seminars on Chinese as a Second Language are held by the L2 Chinese research group of the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. The aims of these seminars are to provide research students with a platform to discuss recent development in the field, to present their work and to receive feedback from teaching staffs and fellow students. The seminars are supervised by Dr Boping Yuan

Abstract

 

In this seminar, I will present the progress of my PhD research project, Second Language Acquisition of Chinese and Thai Nominal Phrases, with particular focus on experimental design for my self-paced reading and acceptability judgment tasks. Rationales for creating each set of test sentences, all test sentences and plans for data analysis will be presented.
