CUCCS Drama Club, a Chinese Drama Club with many-years of history and aims to produce good quality dramas and broaden the access to Chinese Culture. We have successfully launched over 15 dramas over the past 10 years and are gaining an increasing amount of popularity among students.
We are going to launch a new drama called “The Village”. It is the most popular Chinese play since 2009, and has been performed over 200 times in all parts of the world. It features three generations of ordinary military families in an epic drama about the lives of ordinary Kuomintang soldiers who retreated with Chiang Kai-shek to Taiwan in the late 1940s and their families over a period of six decades. This drama shows how their feelings and attitudes change over time, depicting their nostalgia and sadness.
"The Village" is the largest drama we have ever produced in terms of the number of characters and investments. It is well prepared as our actors and actresses have been practicing it since November. We believe that this is a great opportunity for those who enjoy drama and want to learn more about Chinese Culture and History.
You can find a description (in Chinese) of the drama on wiki here (spoiler alert!).
