Choosing a College

If you are applying for an undergraduate course in Asian or Middle Eastern Studies in Cambridge, then you may wish to consider choosing a College that has a Director of Studies in your chosen language area. You will find further information about this in the relevant ‘Course and Year Abroad’ sections in these pages.

When you choose a College, you may also want to consider other factors, such as its size, location and any specific financial support that the College may have to offer. A good way to find out more is to attend a College Open Day, when you can meet some current students, and speak with specialist admissions staff to investigate your choices wisely. The University’s undergraduate admissions website also contains further information to help you choose the right College for you.

Open Days

The Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies holds an Open Day in March each year. This gives you an opportunity to visit us, sample lectures, meet the academic staff and current students and ask as many questions as you like about studying and living in Cambridge.

The Faculty also participates in the Cambridge Open Days, which take place in early July each year. These days give prospective applicants and their parents an opportunity to visit the Colleges as well as University departments. There are also sessions explaining more about the Cambridge system, application procedure and interviews, and further opportunities to ask our current staff and students any questions.

Making your application

To apply to Cambridge, you will need to submit an application to the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Once received, your application will be forwarded to a Cambridge College for consideration.

Full details regarding the applications and admissions process can be found on the University's website.
