Applications are invited for a Language Teaching Associate position in Chinese in the Department of East Asian Studies, University of Cambridge UK, starting on 1st October, 2021

The successful applicant will deliver Chinese language teaching at all levels, to the highest standard, contribute to the planning of language teaching in the section and to conduct examinations at all levels. The role holder will provide advice and guidance to students and contribute to the administration of the Chinese section as required. The post holder will deliver some of the teaching with computer assisted language learning and on-line teaching facilities.

Applications are invited from candidates with experience of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in a Higher Education Setting. A good command of written and spoken English is essential. The successful candidate must be fluent in reading and writing Chinese in traditional characters and should have experience teaching Mandarin Chinese in a native language environment where traditional characters are used. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's Degree in relevant areas and with training in foreign language education. Knowledge of up-to-date language teaching methodology, syllabus design, material development and IT-assisted language teaching would be a plus.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
