Interests & Current Research
I am interested in contemporary Japanese foreign policy, its relations with the countries of Central Eurasia and post-Soviet countries, as well as in broader issues of Northeast Asian security, regionalism and economic cooperation. For my Ph.D. I am working on the analysis of the Japanese foreign policy-making toward Central Asia, also known as the "Silk Road Diplomacy", focusing on various facets of Japan's relations with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
