Biography:

Ph.D Candidate in Chinese studies (Cambridge) 2013-Now.  

Supervised by Dr Adam Yuet Chau.

MA in Anthropology of Art (Chinese National Academy of Arts) 2008-2011.  

Master Dissertation: Between the Socialist State and Local Society: The craftsmen’s Social life and Identity in a State-owned Porcelain FactoryJingdezhen, South China, 1949-1958.

BA in Graphic Design (Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication) 2001-2005.

Research Interests

My research focuses on Chinese Popular religion, Rural society and Material culture. My PhD project is on the examination of the changes and developments of modern China by studying the historical evolution of the production and consumption of ritual-offerings, as well as ritual-offering household economy.

Additional interests: Kinship and Lineage, Work class and Gender in China.
