The Ministry of Education awarded the first ever Distinguished Taiwan Alumni Awards in October, 2018, to seven overseas alumni for their outstanding contributions in the fields of education, industry, and/or civil service. The award winners included Prof. Roel Sterckx, Joseph Needham Professor of Chinese History, Science and Civilisation.
