Professor Barak Kushner delivered a talk on 28 November, 2025, entitled "Imperial Japanese war criminals as leaders — the awkward judicial cases of colonial and nationalist cases that shaped the postwar.”
This presentation was part of a larger workshop, Peace and Reconstruction in Postwar East Asia Conference, held at ShanghaiTech University (上海科技大学), China. Barak had been invited by Professor Xin FAN, who is now Vice Dean of the Institute for Humanities at ShanghaiTech University. Professor Fan had previously taught with us in the Department of East Asian Studies at Cambridge.
