The Japanese Studies Subject Group is pleased to announce that Professor Mickey Adolphson, Keidanren Chair of Japanese Studies, has been named in the Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendations for 2026.
This commendation recognises Professor Adolphson’s distinguished contributions to Japanese Studies and to strengthening academic and cultural ties between Japan and the United Kingdom.
We would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincere congratulations to Professor Adolphson, whose inclusion in the commendations list comes on the eve of a well-earned sabbatical, during which he will work on his book project on the samurai.
