Prof. Kushner delivers four day lecture series: WWII, the End of Empire and Japanese History

Professor Barak Kushner has recently finished a four day lecture series at Waseda university. the series, entitled: 'January Winter Lectures: WWII, the End of Empire and Japanese History' took place from the 7th to 10th of January at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. 

 

The four lectures were:

Lecture 1 (January 7, 2019): The history that you know has been tampered with 

Lecture 2 (January 8, 2019): The end of the beginning: surrender, decolonization and the Cold War 

Lecture 3 (January 9, 2019): Finding Justice: Allied War Crimes Trials and the Japanese Response 

Lecture 4: January 10, 2019: Imperial Legacies: History as a weapon of memory in Postwar East Asia
