Hajni Elias examines the Southwest Silk Road as a zone of interaction and means of cultural and artistic transmission amongst the early societies of southwest China, Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

Dr Hajni Elias, who has just started a three-year Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship in the Faculty after completing her PhD here, has written an article for the Leverhulme Trust's yearly newsletter and website introducing the background to her research.
