The Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES) and its two departments, East Asian Studies and Middle Eastern Studies, combine world-class scholarship with a great teaching and learning environment for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Our research-active staff are leaders in scholarship produced in Arabic Studies, Chinese Studies, Hebrew Studies, Japanese Studies, Persian Studies and Korean Studies, with many working across these cultures.
