The contest, hosted by the British Association for Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language and the Japan Foundation, in collaboration with Kings College London, sees undergraduate students from across the UK compete in three speech categories: Individual Presentation Category, Speech Category and Group Presentation Category.

In the Individual Presentation Category, Patricia Szeto (1st year) took first prize for her presentation: 香港の風水文化 Fengshui Belief in Hong Kong
Finalists in the Group Presentation Category, Millie Fuller, Alex Brow, Emily Kitcat and Nikita Lopatinsky (all 1st Year) impressed the judges with their presentation: 一番好きなイギリスのデザート Our Favourite British Desserts
