Professor James Montgomery's 2018 book Dīwān ʿAntarah ibn Shaddād: A Literary Historical Study has been longlisted for a Sheikh Zayed Prize (editing manuscripts category).

One of the Arab World's most prestigious and well-funded prizes, the Sheikh Zayed Book Award (SZBA) at the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) has revealed the longlists for its 18th edition (2023-2024) in the Literature, Young Author, Children’s Literature, and Editing of Arabic Manuscripts categories. The lists were announced as the judging committees began the evaluation of all longlisted entries.

 Dīwān ʿAntarah ibn Shaddād: A Literary Historical Study by James Montgomery, by Sir Thomas Adam's Professor of Arabic Literature at the University of Cambridge is among the nominees in the "Editing of Arabic Manuscripts" category.
