Biography: 

Dr. Erica C.D. Hunter’s research interests focus on Syriac Christianity in Iraq and Syria, as well as the outreach of the Church of the East in the Caucasus, Iran, Central Asia, Afghanistan and China until 1500. She has a particular interest in the Syriac material from Turfan; her numerous publications include Syriac Texts from the Berlin Turfan Collection (Stuttgart: Steiner Verlag, 2014) [co-authored with Mark Dickens] and A Syriac service-book from Turfan. Museum für Asiatische Kunst, Berlin MS MIK III 45 [Berliner Turfantexte XXXIX] (Turnhout: Brepols, 2017) [co-authored with J.F. Coakley]. She also works on incantation bowls; contributing to J.B. Segal, Catalogue of Aramaic and Mandaic Incantation Bowls in the British Museum (London: British Museum Publications, 2000).
